Description: This geodatabase contains geospatial point locations and tabular data that represent camping units administered by the MNDNR Division of Parks and Trails. This dataset was derived from authoritative sources in the Division of Parks and Trails' Enterprise Information System (EIS). Data included in this dataset have been validated for accuracy and deemed current and authoritative as of the date provided in the Time Period of Content Date. This dataset is updated when needed, as determined by the subject matter expert.
Within the scope of the EIS, the term camping units includes campsites, wall tents, tipis, group areas, and group camps.
This dataset serves as an authoritative GIS resource for mapping the locations and for reporting characteristics of the camping units administered by the DNR Division of Parks and Trails. The primary intended audience for whom this dataset was created consists of the staff of MNDNR, other State of Minnesota governmental entities, and residents of the State of Minnesota.

This dataset, exported out of the DNR WHEELS database, includes both PAT-administered and GIA trails and provides data regarding trail type, allowable uses, width, and surface type. This dataset is not the most reliable source for Hunter Walking Trails or Snowmobile Trails; please consult Quick Layers for those specific datasets.
Description: These are all Minnesota State Trails listed under MS85.015 and MS84.029, the only difference is that 85.015 are listed as "State Trail". MS84.029 trails are a state maintained trails defined by recreational opportunity and abandoned railway lines.
